What a year 2019 has been! The housing market has stayed strong and interest rates remained low, making for an awesome year for all of us in the Real Estate Industry. There was also a lot of change up on Capitol Hill this year that directly impacted the world of title and escrow.

First with the passing of the RON Bill (Remote Online Notarization) we will soon have the ability to conduct remote closings due to the fact we will have the ability to Notarize documents remotely. There is still quite a bit of work being done through the Attorney General’s office with the help of the Utah Land Title Association to put prudent policies and procedures in place for the protection of the consumer. Mortgage Lenders will also have to get on board and comfortable with these policies and procedures, but we believe we are headed in the right direction.

Another Bill that passed now allows Realtors, Mortgage Lenders and Builders to have ownership interests in title companies or agencies. While this is certain to have a big impact on the title and escrow industry Integrated Title is proud to remain as an independent neutral third party and true fiduciary to the buyers, sellers and borrowers here in our great State without any influence or pressure from related or affiliated parties in a transaction.
